Leadership coaching in York and by Zoom
I offer leadership coaching in York, but I will travel to clients (or they come to me) if preferred. However, the bulk of my clients engage via Zoom for ease and time efficiency: it works just as well. For clients in the USA, it is not a problem to find suitable time slots either as I am flexible.
My speciality is helping analytically minded leaders to leverage their strengths, improve their effectiveness and impact on the business. I have worked for a wide range of organisations across most industry sectors, including FTSE 100 companies in the UK and internationally.
In my coaching, I take a pragmatic approach, balanced by a challenging but warm and supportive style. Having operated as a confidante to many senior executives over the years and having been a leader myself at divisional level at Natwest, I understand some of the pressures you face. I fundamentally believe that it is not possible to drive long-term, sustainable high performance by focusing on weaknesses – so I will help you think about what leveraging your strengths really looks like in practice.
Focusing on strengths doesn’t mean ignoring potential blind spots and part of my approach would be to help you understand those blind spots and any impact that they may be having on your performance and ultimately your ability to drive excellence for yourself and others.

Leadership coaching - common topics
Above all, I am driven by delivering results and my passionate commitment to help in a variety of situations: a significant transition/promotion; avoiding self-sabotage (imposter-like feelings) and being the best you can be ‘more of the time’, increasing impact and presence, achieving greater insight and self-awareness of how you are experienced by others, and navigating often highly political organisations and environments.
Lastly, but of critical importance, family and personal connection is what really speaks to me. I have two young girls, and I’m passionate about them having the best lives they can. So I’m someone that knows a little of parenting, and someone that has balanced a very demanding career alongside that. So whilst most of my clients arrive with a business challenge, they leave having been coached as a whole person. My coaching commonly benefits not just work capability, but all of life, which means the potential benefits from coaching conversations with me can be huge.
So, what is not working for you just now? If you’ve never tried coaching, I offer a free one hour session for you to experience in practice what coaching can do for you. Simply get in touch via the Contact form, or email me at patientmindcoach@gmail.com.

What is the logo about?
The logo is of a cairn, built since prehistoric times and used across cultures as landmarks, and as trail markers for travellers. By adding a rock, you are preserving the integrity of the monument and helping protect it from harsh weather. I like the idea that my life’s work is to create a safe space for people to reach, to explore and be challenged around where their trail could lead to, to add a rock, and then set off with a surer foot down a clearer path.
