Leadership Coaching

Personalised Leadership Coaching

Interested in Leadership Coaching? I support high potential analytically-minded mid-career leaders to achieve their fullest potential.

Unfortunately, all too many talented people get promoted and then struggle to make an impact. 50% to 70% of executives fail within 18 months of taking on a role (Corporate Executive Board research).

This costs both the individual and the company they work for: replacing a competent member of staff equates to approximately a year of that person’s salary (PWC 2010). I have seen it time and again in my +20 years of corporate leadership experience, and experienced it myself.

Master the Art of Effective Leadership

We make a series of avoidable mistakes that damage our credibility: continuing our pre-promotion routine, failing to reposition to build new relationships, and lacking awareness around the leadership role. We need to shape the world around and above us (rather than waiting for others to solve our problems).

Through leadership coaching, I help these new leaders move up the curve faster and with greater confidence. We work on how to hit the reset button: what are the new rules, new expectations, and new ways of thinking that will help them hit the ground running? The danger is that they do not adapt quickly enough, resulting in low staff engagement, stress, and burnout – besides lost promotion opportunities.

How does 121 leadership coaching help?

We will identify habits and patterns that either hold an individual back or are under-used.

We understand how you show up, and want to show up as a leader, with gravitas and impact.

Defining the goals you really want is not simple, and benefits from challenge and alternative perspectives.

With our leadership coaching, we will identify the values that drive you as a leader, and which you want to define your life’s work. It is the strength behind your leadership.

The busyness of life can get in the way, and I will help to develop your motivation to push forwards with actions, and support you should you veer off track.

I will not shy away from risking the relationship by sharing the truths you may need to hear – uncommon in this world.

Building personal impact and resilience to combat the feeling of overwhelm and burnout, and focus on the bigger picture.

Every session involves the translation of insights from discussion into real world action that can be taken to deliver change.

Leadership Coaching with Alex (PatientMind)

I coach primarily on Zoom in person from home in North Yorkshire (England), but also travel to coach face to face where required.

My role is to help you understand you, and then facilitate you to find your own answers and your own solutions in your own way. I believe this is critically important for authentic leadership.

I tell all my clients three things:

  1. We need to be courageous. It takes courage to deep dive into who you are, and it takes courage for me to risk our relationship at any point by saying what I see.
  2. I am not your friend. Whilst I am friendly and warm, my job is to be your champion which can entail some tough love.
  3. You are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole. I won’t be telling you what to do, because you have the tools and capability inside you already, waiting to be unlocked through coaching.

I know it takes courage to take the first step towards change. My job is to support you all the way on that journey. The fact you are reading this suggests you are already lacing up your shoes for the journey. I look forward to discovering it with you!
