Business coaching in York and online
Your business is growing.
You're the thing
holding it back.
Most business coaches focus on strategy. Most leadership coaches focus on behaviour. The problem is you cannot separate them — especially when you are the founder. PatientMind works on both.
The Business Coaching journey
You didn't start this business to spend your days firefighting. But somehow every decision still runs through you, and the work you should be doing keeps getting pushed back. That's not a strategy problem. It's a leadership one.
What changes with business coaching in York
and online
Business coaching in York and online with PatientMind focuses on results, not process for its own sake. Here is what clients who've worked with Alex consistently tell me has changed.
You know where the business is going
Not a vague three-year vision. A specific, written direction that makes decisions easier — because you know what you're working towards and why.
You stop being the bottleneck
Decisions get made without you. Work gets delegated and stays delegated. Your team stops asking permission and starts owning things. You get your time back.
Your strategy survives contact with reality
Monthly coaching means priorities don't drift. Progress is tracked. The things that matter actually get done — they're not quietly dropped because something urgent came up.
You make decisions more quickly
When you're clear on your values, your model and your priorities, the hard calls become clearer. You stop weighing every option from scratch each time.
The business works better when you're not there
The hallmark of a scalable business. Processes, people and accountability structures that don't depend on you being in the room.
You lead as well as manage
Most founders are brilliant at the work. Fewer are brilliant at the leadership the business needs as it grows. This is where the two disciplines meet.
How business coaching works.
A framework built around your business.
Strategy day
We start with a full-day working session. We map the business — what's working, what's not, where the growth is and where the constraints are. You leave with a written strategic plan and a ranked set of priorities.
Monthly coaching sessions
One hour each month. We work through what's blocking you — whether that's a strategic decision, a leadership challenge or something you haven't quite been able to name yet. Progress is reviewed. Accountability is real.
Quarterly strategy reviews
Every quarter we step back. What's changed? What's stalled? Where does the plan need to evolve? These sessions keep the direction sharp and prevent the business from running on last year's assumptions.
AI-powered working sessions (optional)
For clients who want to go further, I offer sessions to embed Claude and other AI tools into how the business actually works — from SOPs and onboarding to sales preparation and operations.
"I've spent 25 years developing leaders — inside banks, regulators and consulting firms — and the past four years coaching founders and executives full time. The work I did leading NatWest's Commercial Performance team taught me how to read a business clearly: where the real constraints are, where the numbers don't add up, and where the leader is the variable that changes everything. And you only find out what kind of leader you are when the business actually needs you to be one."
Former Director, NatWest Commercial Bank
Most business coaches give you a framework. Most leadership coaches give you self-awareness. PatientMind gives you both — because growing a business without growing as a leader just moves the ceiling higher. Alex also offers Best Year Yet coaching for individuals who want a structured 12-month personal plan.
Is business coaching in York right for you?
You run a small or growing business and you're good at what you do — but the business itself feels harder than it should.
You've tried to delegate, to step back, to focus on the bigger picture. Something keeps pulling you back into the detail.
You want a thinking partner who will be direct with you — not just encouraging. Someone who will ask the questions you've been avoiding.
You're at a point of growth or change and you want to move forward with intention, not just momentum.
You want the commercial and the leadership work done in the same room, not split between two different coaches.
You're prepared to invest in a real working relationship — not a one-off workshop or a quarterly check-in that doesn't go deep enough.
What clients say about business coaching with PatientMind
"Every founder hits that point of — how do I actually step away and scale this thing? That's exactly what the day was about. Alex pushed us both, asked some uncomfortable questions, and steered us into action rather than friction. We came away with a solid plan, and I felt genuinely clear about the vision and the next few months."
"I'd been putting off a decision for months. Within one session it was clear. What Alex does is cut through the noise — not by telling you what to do, but by asking the right question at exactly the right moment. Six months in, the business looks different. I look different in it."
"Alex's coaching was such a help to both myself and my business. I felt like I understood myself better, had some lightbulb moments both personally and professionally, and knew the path I needed to take. Some things changed immediately — I was able to say no to non-ideal clients and find focus. I'm looking forward to monthly sessions so Alex can keep me accountable and on track."
